It was my 21st project from Handmade Home. It's basically layers of repurposed t-shirts and some flannel that was given to me-sewn together.
You know, I didn't use cloth diapers and I don't know anyone in real life that does either. I think it's just not customary in my part of the woods. I see a lot of folks on the internets that do though.
So were (are) you disposable or cloth? I was disposable.

On a side note-today's my bro-out-law's birthday! Happy birthday ol' buddy.☺

Jodie-bahahahahaha-it probably will be a dust cloth. And you don't look chubby you look nice.
Sorry Davey-I should have said u iz an IMPORTANT side note.
Darn Tootin !!!!!!
I tried cloth diapers for about a week -- honestly, I'm amazed that I lasted that long. Between the smell and the diaper rash, I figured it was for the birds -- not me. I don't mean to offend anyone, but disposable worked just fine for me.
Anyway -- who's going to wear that lovely diaper you made?
Well....it will probably become a lovely dust cloth.
Well, yes, I did try cloth with #3, but gave it up too. I was given some nice cloth diapers to use as burp clothes - they are wonderful for that end of the baby!
I have two daughters in cloth diapers. I prefer cloth over paper diapers because of reduced cost and waste, but I know they don't make sense for everyone. I have yet to try making my own diapers....maybe someday when I'm not so busy changing them. :)
Thanks for sharing everybody!
Thanks for reminding me where to find a cloth diaper makin instruction thingy Holly.
I have used cloth for 12 years now. Let me count....
9 kids all up!
3 of my own and the rest Foster babies.
I use disposable too but mostly cloth.
and i will be using cloth for the bub to be too!
Thanks for sharing Melissa. Do a lot of your friends and family use cloth too? Like I said it just doesn't seem to the thing to do in the area I live in.
Just a few friends from church use them, no one else i know. A lot of people complain that they tried it at first and they couldn't handle the cleaning and once they started on disposables, didn't go back. I get lazy now and then but i always go back to them. I just think about the nappies used up, 10? nappies a day, 70 nappies a week, 3640 nappies in a year. That's one stinky pile!
Tee hee that was me
Thanks for this trip down memory lane. I used cloth nappies or diapers as you call them there. Using disposable nappies was considered lazy and wasteful! I confess I did resort to disposables, much to my mother's consternation, for my youngest. In my defense I only started using disposables when she was in training, and after 5 children I was a bit over the whole soaking/washing regime by the time I succumbed to the easy life. My baby is now 17 and I still feel guilty!! lol KIM :)
Kim-thanks for sharing!
Personally, I think you deserve a medal for cloth diapering 4 children 100%!
