Photo journaling-I planted a few sunflower seeds and they actually grew!

I planted an old pack of sunflower seeds behind my house using the stab and drop method.

Take screwdriver. Stab the hard ground. Drop seed in hole. Half-heartedly push dirt over hole with finger. Wait.

 This method works quite well!
Almost ready.

Getting closer-the view from outside.

Made it!  The view from inside.

The view from behind is equally as pretty as the view from the front!

One of the stalks fell over, so I brought it in.  So cheery!
I want to dry the flowers now, so that the birds can eat the seeds. :)

I just love this afghan I got at Goodwill a few years ago.  (The thing really holds the heat.)

I wish I could thank the person that made it and let them know that it is used and loved.  :)

Photo journaling

Some photos from the last month:

Thanksgiving veggies

Aren't these colorful carrots pretty?  They were from Trader Joe's.

Here's the birthday cake my sister Kimmie and her hubby Travis brought me.  (I still have some in the freezer-it's very yummy!)

Kim and Travis, and Mom and Dad got me this new kitchen faucet.  Travis installed it-I love, love, love it!  No more leaking, no more mineral deposits around the sink, and my sprayer works for the first time in 20 years!  This is case of-you don't know what you don't have until you've got it!  (Do you see how happy Mrs. Spoon is?)

I bought myself an advent calendar (first time) at Aldi for 99 cents.  (I think they're cool.)  But I bought it late, so I had all this chocolate to eat at once.

Puppy nephew Diesel and his Daddy.

He's growing up!

This is Mr. Puss.  My daughter sent me this pic on his gotcha day-December 26.  She's had him a year.

Another birthday gift-this one from my sister, Jodie.  She knows what I like!

Another birthday gift from Jodie~Hope.

I had some note cards made from some of my photos.  I bundled them up and gave them as gifts.  I am really pleased with how they turned out.  (I'll probably take a pic of them all laid out on the table some time.  Also, I'd like to show the kittie calendar I made for my daughter and the one I made of Roc-but I need to get pics.)

I reused Trader Joe's grocery bags as gift bags.  I thought, why not?  They're even Christmasy.

There are no pretty pictures of Christmas decorations this year, because...there weren't any.  I wasn't feeling it-the house is in disarray and I wouldn't have been able to enjoy them anyhow.  And I'm okay with that.

Also, it's been so gray and dark here-I haven't been taking many pics.  Hopefully that will change as the days get longer-can't wait!

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and I wish you a blessed New Year!

Photo journaling-sunny corners, yummy food, and bea-u-ti-ful nature

Look at that gorgeous kiwi!

Beautiful pomegranate!  Here's a link to a video on how to get all the seeds out of a pomegranate.  Emmy made in Japan  is one of my favorite YouTube channels.  (I chose the beat with the back of a spoon method-it works great.)

The best 99 cents I've spent in a while.

That's all for now-have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
