Randomness, as usual

There was an 'X' in the sky the other day-and yes, I checked to make sure there wasn't an 'O'.

This way to heaven.

I made red velvet crinkle cookies last week.  The recipe was on the Duncan Hines Signature red velvet cake mix.  The red dye is probably terrible for you, but I really loved these cookies.

I made some sour refrigerator pickles with some cukes that Larry brought home.

This is my nephew's and niece's trike~getting old, getting rusty.  I think Jodie uses it as a photography prop now.

LIVE, LOVE, LAUGH

Another mugshot!  This is fun!

An ugly, weed infested garden can provide beautiful things.  This is proof!

A clean table!

Must document clean table!
You have to admit, that's a pretty good heart cloud!

H is for Holly AND honey.  Dawnie brought me some local honey when she visited and it is sooooo good!  Thank you, Dawnie!
That's all the randomness for now, but there will be more soon~I'm sure.

Tea and flowers

This strawberry mug was a gift from my friend Dawnie.  Love it!

This wimpy zinnia is from my garden-ha!

Here are some things making me smile these days~tea (of course) and flowers (the gorgeous zinnias are Jodie's), and the last pic is an iPod touch cover that I ordered from Artscow (2 for 99 cents each.)  I gave them to Jess and Jodie.

Have a great weekend!

Off my camera

I've been taking tea pictures everyday.  It makes me happy!

My sunflowers are blooming!  At least there's one thing doing well in my garden.  This sunflower came from seeds that Michaelanne sent me.

A windowsill full of sunflowers-the yellow flowers came from seeds I saved last year.
My sister, Kim, gave me her RED microwave (I needed a new one!), since her new place has one built in.

On Saturday a storm rolled in.  A gigantic black cloud moved over my house.  Kinda scary!  (Didn't stop me from going out and taking pictures, though.)

The calm after the storm!

Yesterday at sunrise!

Three more robins have been born and raised and are now gone from my rhododendron bush.  That's seven this year.  I love watching stuff like this!
That's all for now, have a nice day!

Out and about

On Friday, I left my house (oh, yes I did!) and went to see my daughter.
We went to the Olive Garden for a late lunch.  We both love Olive Garden. We ordered the soup, salad, and bread sticks-as usual.  We shared the black tie mousse cake for dessert.  It was good, but rich.

After lunch, she made me go to the mall!  I'm not a fan of malls, but anything for my girl!

What???  This dummy had no undies on!!!

Then she took me to a lake.

We walked around and saw pretty things like:  Goosies!

Duck(s)!

Dragonflies!

Butterflies!
It was hot as hades out, but anything for my girl! I tried my best not to complain about the heat, but I was starting to feel dehydrated.  She got mad at me when we got back in the car and I wanted the windows down and the air conditioner on at the same time.  She doesn't understand-Momma's getting old and can't take the heat!  Then, she was irritated that I couldn't hear half of what she was saying in the car, you know-what with the windows down and the stereo blasting. She got over it very quickly, though, as she does these days, which was nice! Oh, my-we seem to speak different languages at this stage in our lives, but she'll always be my baby girl!

Have a great day everybody!

Summertime and the livin' is easy

Here are some photos from in and around my home.

I hope everybody is having a lovely summer!  (or winter, like if you live in Australia.)
