Crookneck squash and zucchini and onions-that's about all (besides green tomotoes) that's in our pitiful looking garden. We had this last night and we'll have it along with (probably) cheeseburgers tonight.
I just washed the squash, cut out the big seeds, chopped the rest up, added chopped onion and sauteed it in a couple tablespoons of (real) butter for about 10 minutes and then added plenty of salt and pepper. It was tasty. (I actually like the crookneck squash better than zucchini.)
Squash and beef-it's what's for dinner.☺

hehehe, i know how you feel. we have some as big as garbage cans and frankly i am scared to go into that part of the garden. its rediculous how big and fast they grow. For the first time this year i planted the yellow crookneck too and love them. they are a bit firmer than regular zuchs don't you think?
I think its funny that you and your sis communicate on your blog :) my niece does the same thing to me. (on a side note, although i have read the series i keep the first book by the treadmill for those times that i just don't want to keep going. i grab it and can pretty much pass 30 minutes in a blink of an eye, lame i know)
Cindy,
You're not lame at all-at least you are exercising. More than I can say for myself.☺

They look delish! And its a lot more than what is coming out of my garden (which my chooks keep attacking) Zucchini butter and a bit of salt pepper and garlic is my fave
