Yummy recipe using leftover chili

My dad, with my mom's help, cans homemade chili. It's yummy. And they, of course, give some to their children. Do you know how nice it is to just pop open and heat a jar and voilá-supper? Well-let me tell you-it's nice!

So anyway-if you would happen to have about 2 cups or a pint of leftover chili hanging out in your fridge-here's a yummy recipe to use it up.

Chili Cheese Dip

Spread 8 oz of cream cheese on the bottom of a pie plate.

Spread about 2 cups (1 pint) of chili on top of that. (Homemade is best, but canned will do.)

Sprinkle 1 to 2 cups of shredded cheddar cheese on top of that.

Microwave for 2-3 minutes, until cheese is melted.

Serve with tortilla chips.

Enjoy! ☺

This recipe is in my cookbook.

New bowl

I'm tickled with this lovely homemade bowl given to me by my lovely and hilarious cousin, Michelle.

Michelle has a relative that makes this pottery and that relative gives Michelle her rejects. This bowl has cracks in the bottom, so it won't hold liquid. Who cares-I'll take it. I love ♥ pottery.

It's just the right size to hold my hazelnut coffee Yankee candle (the bestest candle in the whole wide world, IMHO-that means in my honest opinion-just in case you didn't know, and I think this is a run on sentence and I really don't care.)

I actually cleaned my stove last night-so it's actually suitable to be photographed!

Thanks Michelle, it's the little things that make me happy. ☺

Note to self: Tell Michelle about blog!

Grape Salad

Here's a yummy recipe. Everybody seems to love it and it contains fruit.

Here's a tip though-try to make make this when grapes are on sale. I bought 4.44 lbs of grapes at $2.99 a pound. I'll do the math for you-that's $13.28 for grapes. Wow. It was worth it though, because it all got eaten and everybody liked it.

Grape Salad

8 oz. block of cream cheese (softened)
16 oz. sour cream
8 oz. Cool Whip
1 pkg. vanilla instant pudding
1/4 cup powdered sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
grapes-2, 3, 4 pounds-whatever (I used 4.44 pounds this past Friday)

Blend first 6 ingredients. Add grapes.

Congratulations-you're done! ☺

More fab fabric arrived at my door...

yesterday, from Joann.com. Yeehaw!!! I might have to try my hand at making a bag.

Also, my computer seems to be working. I think it fixed itself. Yeehaw, again ☺ !

Toddler and buttons

Last summer I spent about 2 weeks scrapbooking. It really was the first time I did it. Wow-let me just say-I had the whole house torn up. For me-a very messy, messy hobby.

I think I'm a digital scrapbooker at heart.

So anyway-here's one of my pages. I took fabric and made a copy of it and used it as my background and also used buttons-my favorite.

I think it turned out fine, for a novice.

The good, the bad, and the ugly!

Purty, little bumble bee pollinating my beautiful rhododendrons.

Bad, bad carpenter bees making sawdust of our cedar home. Very bad bees!

Those ugly, ugly wasps building nests in every nook and cranny they possibly can find-even between the screens and doors. Freakin' ugly wasps!

So there you have it-The good, the bad, and the ugly-around my home.

Is algae considered a vegetable?

Note to self: Wash out water pitcher-and soon!
