Do you want your home to smell like Christmas? If so-fill a pot with a few inches of water, drop in your citrus peel of choice (today I'm using clementine and grapefruit), and add a good sprinkle of cinnamon. Simmer on low and your house will smell wonderful! I did this last year also. I think it was the first time I used Mr. Le Creuset, my splurge last year at this time. And I've found it's pronounced lay crew-say not lee crew-set from seeing the commercials for it on PBS. Da!-I should have known better-it's French! Ah well, I know now. You know Le doesn't get used much-he's quite little! He's mostly just eye candy that sits right there on top of the stove. But he's so beautiful and I really do enjoy looking at him every day. :) |

We have had a pot of spiced water on our stove for weeks now. 'Started a bit earlier this year than last, I think. It's nice to see others do this too. :)
Well, I was trying to think of what to call it-so it's spiced water. Thank you for the info!
Oooh, I did this last year from your blog and forgot about it - thanks for reposting!
I want to try this. I'm sure it will smell great. Can't wait! Love your Le Creuset pot too!
I remember reading that post last Christmas too, after i tried burning the house down i used it.
Thanks for a whole year of great reading!
stove top poupourri, I need to do this. The scent of orange always puts me in a better mood too!
What a great idea! I can't wait to try this, I bet it smells heavenly!
Creative and trifty, this will help make my yankee candles last longer something else to make the house smell great.

such a good warm idea.
Thanks for telling me how to say LeCrueset. I'm embarrassed to admit that I've been saying it wrong all these years. In my defense though -- I took Spanish in high school. I've always wanted one of those pots and I think I'd be like you and just leave it out to admire all day long.
I mentioned this over at my blog today too. :)
