Nest of baby wrens

I found a nest of baby wrens (that's what my dad thought they were, and I looked them up, and I think he's right) in my mom's hydrangea bush yesterday.

Ugly, little (so very tiny) creatures-yet cute, fuzzy, little puff balls at the same time!

Wet!

I went outside looking for a rainbow, yet what I found was a somewhat sorry-looking, rain-drenched robin.  I can't say that I was disappointed.  :)

Misc.

I'm really enjoying my stapled on bunting.  I've always loved seeing clothes on the line and this reminds me of that.

New stove!  I had to finally replace my old stove after 25 years.  The week before that, it was the fridge-ack!

Scrub Daddy and I cleaning the new stove!  Scrub Daddy cracks me up.  Don't 'they' say smiles are contagious?  They're probably right.  :)

While waiting in construction, I entertained myself by taking pictures.
I focused in on some daisies on the side of the road, while sitting in my car.

Clouds fascinate me.

A wildflower/weed found down by my mailbox.

I can't stop checking on my babies-this batch is easy to see from the deck.
Have a wonderful week!

Strawberry (slim) pickin' (s)

Mmmmm-smelled like strawberry Bubble Yum.

Tiny berries-no bigger than a blueberry

Yes-it was slim pickin's!  (That's a very small colander there.)

I checked my usual spot (on a bank, near our shed) and sure enough, I found a few tiny wild strawberries.  And yes-I did eat them and they were good.

Wildflower bouquet

I picked meself some daisies and yarrow this morning.

Wildflowers on the little red piano

If one were having a June wedding in Pennsylvania-there would be no need to pay for or even plant flowers.  The only need there would be-to pick!

Oh, nature-you are amazing!

When I was taking a photo this bunting (which is just fabric folded over and stapled around clothesline),  I was photobombed by a  hummer.  I didn't mind at all!   (I vow to get a photo of a hummer sitting on that bunting, by the end of summer!)

More baby robins-different nest, different bush, still miraculous. (June 15th)

This tiny red/orange wildflower pops up in my yard every year.  I figured I'd get a picture of it  before I mowed it off.

It's daisy season

Daisy on the windowsill
The humble daisy-what a gorgeous wildflower!

Standing on the dock of a pond

I donned my boots (instead of my flip flops) and visited waterlily pond one more time.  This time, I gingerly stepped onto the rickety looking dock, to get the full view.  It was beautiful, as you can see!

Good eats!

A good friend sent this beautiful tray of cookies home with me-thanks, Dawnie!  (They are long gone now.)

I took a notion to make strawberry shortcake one Sunday afternoon.  I ate some and then I needed a nap! Food coma.

Visited by a gray tree frog-at least, I think that's what it was

"What are you lookin' at?"

At first I thought he was a toad, but then I looked him up, and I think he's a gray tree frog.

I think he might be getting ready to jump.

The other morning I saw this little blob on my deck railing.  Of course, I had to check to see what it was and of course, I had to take pictures of it!

Waterlily pond

Last fall, I discovered that a pond near my house was full of lily pads.  I never knew it had these water lilies (it's mostly hidden from the road by brush and trees), but clearly they've been there for many, many years.

I didn't capture any frogs with my camera-but, oh, I could tell they were there by the sounds of the croaks and splashing water.  That made me chuckle.  :)

PS-if you really look, you can see hearts made of water.

Miscellaneous

A lilac heart-these are from my mom's Miss Kim dwarf lilac bush.

It was rug washing day at Mom's house.

Who's your Scrub Daddy?  Mom and her QVC!  She gave me one and I was glad because I have a thing for smiley faces.  :)

I don't know what got into me last week, but I made potato salad-twice.  I like bacon, eggs, celery, onions, and of course-potatoes in mine.

Hope necklace-a gift from Kim.

Here's the happy, beautiful couple!
