Homegrown goodness

This is my prized watermelon.  He's not quite ready yet-can't wait till he is!

Carrying my melons... I'm used to it-believe me!!!  I didn't know it at the time-but I see pupper's under foot!

This morning's clouds.

Another windowsill shot-I love 'em!

This is the crimson maple I planted in 1994.  It's finally starting to get big!

My bowl runneth over with homegrown goodness!

So what do you do when you never get your butt in gear and plant your beloved zinnias???

You steal them from your sister's yard, naturally.

Ahhhhh-bliss!
Happy Monday everybody!

Mama's house

Can you see the bee?

I made this wall hanging quilt for my mom probably in the mid to
late 80's.  (I had some help though-cause I was a youngin'!)  She
loves cats.

She had no idea she loved dogs.  Now she does.  At
least she does this one.  It's Buddy!  He getting big.

The bees were a buzzin' today!

Ahhhh-I'm loving these candy striped zinnias!  Next year I'll try not to
be so lazy and plant mine!

I went to my mom's (and dad's) today to help her do a few
things around the house and I just had to take
some pics of the beauty around me!

Have a good weekend and stay safe!

Hipstamatic and shakeit photos

My morning tea!

How I love you-spools of thread!

These are some sweet hangers (it's a little hard to tell!) that I found at Goodwill.

My big maters are finally ripening.

I've been cutting, cutting, cutting.

This is my bathroom windowsill.

I made some cupcakes tonight.  Hmmmm-I wonder who ate that one?

An old tin and embroidery floss.

I ordered an ipod touch and it came yesterday!  I called my 13
year old niece, Jess, for some advice on how to use it.  With her
help I figured out how to use the internet on it and I bought two photo
apps.  The hipstamatic was $1.99 and the shakit app was $.99.  I'm
having some fun with it!  How in the world did Steve Jobs invent this kind
of stuff???  Amazing!  I saw on the news that he stepped down from
being CEO of Apple yesterday because of health reasons.  Oh, goodness.

If any of you are in the path of Hurricane Irene (Dawn???)-I'll be
thinking of you.  Be safe!

Sunflower

I was tickled to see that one of my three sunflowers had bloomed.   Yes-I planted more than that-but three is all I can see that have come up.  That's okay-I'll enjoy the three I have got.

I purposely bought seeds for small sunflowers.  While I love those giant ones (and so do the birds)-they're hard to bring in the house.  I think next year I'll plant some of each, so we both can enjoy them.

I'm hoping that when this little beauty droops the next one has bloomed so I can bring it in and so on...for maximum enjoyment potential!

I hope you have a most enjoyable day!

Look-a butterfly!

I've been noticing a lot of butterflies around here lately.  I cleaned my
closet the other week and I found some pillowcase that I had picked up at
Goodwill a long time ago.  This one has two hand embroidered butterflies
on it.  I think it's so lovely and it's sooooo soft!

Here's the other butterfly on that case and also another lovely (this one
cross stitched) pillowcase-also from Goodwill.  I've had these on my bed
since I cleaned my closet.  LOVE!

And here is a lovely sheet from Goodwill.  It does have a hole in it, so
I will be ripping it up for rugs.  The only problem is, is that it still smells
like moth balls after several washings.  Right now it's on my deck railing
soaking in some fresh air and sunshine.  I'm hoping that will help it smell
better!

Can you spy the butterfly here?  This is a table runner I embroidered a while
ago.  It matches my tall flowers pillowcases.

Hello, Beautiful!  Thank you for posing for me!

Hi, Gorgeous!  Thank you for taking the time to pose for me too!

Butterfly, butterfly happy all day.
Butterfly, butterfly fly, fly away!

Oh, Barney, we have such a love/hate relationship!

Have a wonderful weekend, everybody!

What a beautiful day...

to go to the fair.  This is my daughter's 8th and final year of participating in 4-H.  She'll be TOO OLD!  She got Reserve Grand Champion Market Lamb this year.  That basically means 2nd place of the whole lamb shebang.  Her dad was very happy!

Have a nice day!

Miscellaneous stuff, as always

And then there was one.  I *think* this was Saturday morning.

Hello, cutie!

And yesterday...now I have empty nest syndrome.

Being at my friend Dawnie's beautiful home on Friday...

made me want to come home and spiff up my corners.  I did spiff a few-but I have many more to go!

Peeing dog doorstop was given to us by Larry's grandma (I called her Goosey) a long, long time ago.

Ahhhh-the moon-from a few evenings ago.   It's a little bit hard to believe that every one of us shares the same one.  This moon is my moon, this moon is your moon...

Have a great Monday, everybody!
