Miscellany

Oooooo-pretty sunset the other night!  (Stay tuned for the rainbow that was in the east.)

Yes, I take a pic of this tree every time I go past-but look at those clouds!

Awwww-three hearts, connected.

This is the shed for the cemetery near our house.  Doesn't it look like a chapel?

I've taken a photo of this car before too, only this time there are leaves on the trees.  I like it!

Again-I've photographed this barn before.  I can't help it, it's pretty-especially with the clouds.
This is Rocco, the rhythmic gymnast rottweiler.  He just loves to swing stuff around his head-silly boy!

Here's my beautiful niece Jess and ahem-ONE of her new volleyballs.  Love this kid!

We had the biggest double rainbow the other night-right before the sun set.  I never get tired of rainbows.

Well, would you look at these two hotties!  This is the graduate (Patrick) and his sister-er, I mean-his mother (my sister).  It's the end of an era, but also just the beginning of a new one for this fine boy-er, I mean man.  Oh, MAN!
Have a good day!

Memorial Day

This morning I found my first wild strawberry.

Wild berry, wild flower-don't they look great together?

Just adding some color to my blueberry photo! (PS-I brought the strawberry in and rinsed it and then ate it.  Not good-it wasn't ripe!)

Jelly beans stuck to the side of this jar-struck me as funny!

I planted some flower seeds this morning.  The rest will have to wait until it gets cooler outside.

This tree was just glistening this morning.  So gorgeous!

Remembering...on this Memorial Day.

Off my camera

When nothing goes right-go left. (I've seen this saying around the internets and I thought it went perfectly with this angle of my favorite tree!)  This one's for you Jessie Kaye!

I was at my sister's house yesterday and I just had to use my favorite mug of hers.  Isn't it just beautiful?

Good morning sunshine!  It's always a good morning with tea in a favorite cup and my ipod.  Yes!  (Michaelanne has got me hooked on Tazo tea.)

I thought the dappled sunlight on our dirt road looked so pretty.

Out of the nest and mustering up the courage to fly.

I checked on my babies yesterday evening when I got home, and the nest was empty.  I couldn't believe it-already? But I couldn't figure out why Mama and Papa robin were squawking when I was near the bush, because the nest was empty.  So I looked around and lo and behold, I spied a baby sitting on a branch.  I checked again this morning and it was still there.  What amazing creatures!

I painted this abstract piece yesterday and I've entitled it 'Purple Rain'.

Alright-I'm lying.  This is a photo gone bad (but good, I think) of the underneath of one of my rhododendron bushes.  Most of the petals have fallen to the ground, and I was thinking it looked like purple rain.
I hope everybody has a wonderful weekend!

Let me tell ya 'bout the birds...

I believe I can fly, I believe I can touch the sky.

 Hello little lady bug.

This is robin cam from yesterday.  Can you see the fourth baby smushed on the bottom?

Robin cam from today, from below.

Rocco and I found a ton of Mountain Laurel blooming on our property.

I brought some in for the kitchen windowsill.  It's toxic, so-I hope none blows in our food!

This is Toy Soldier lichen (Cladonia bellidiflora) on our deck post, or at least that's what Mr. Google told me.
Have a fantastic day!

Outside (Ha! and people always call me a houseplant!)

Here's a little fencepost bouquet I put together while I was out with Rocco.  Doing stuff like this is good for my soul!

Ahhhh-a rainbow sky-obviously fake, but I love it.  (I used the rainbow effect in Ipiccy.)

Meet the parent!  I'm not sure if it's the mama or the papa-but from observing, I know that both of them work hard to feed their babies.

Here's robin cam from yesterday.

And here it is from today.  These babies are about nine days old.  (And I thought my kid grew up fast!)

Here's the Roc with his frisbee this morning.  Love my handsome boy!!!
Have a great day everybody!

Miscellaneous

My dad came over this morning to work on my camper roof.  (Thanks, Dad!)  I couldn't do a whole lot, so I just went around taking pictures.  You know-the usual.

Everything's better with a dollop of daisies!

Here's my favorite tree...with leaves.  :)

Have a beautiful day!

This and that

Rocco in the wild blue yonder.  It doesn't get much prettier than this.

I feel so lucky to be able to see these amazing creatures every day.

Whoa-look at that face!

A misty morning this week.

This is robin cam from yesterday morning.

********************************

My neighbor and friend passed away this week. She was 69 (I think 69 is  young!) and was not well for the last few months.  I'm feeling a little bit sad and a little bit mad about it.  Death is not pretty, for sure, and when stuff like this happens it gets me thinking about stuff, you know?  Sometimes, I feel cynical and think why bother? You're born, you die-what the heck's the point?  That's one of the reasons I believe in God-because there just has to be a purpose for life on this earth.  There just has to be.

I hope everyone has a nice day!

Around here

Rocco and I went for a ride again today and we found our first daisies of the year.

I picked them for a photo and then when I was done-I threw them on the ground.  Then, I thought to myself-Da Holly, bring them in the house. And so I did.

I looked up and saw a face in my kitchen light.

Coming in for...a drink.

I've entitled this photo-rainbow Rocco!  (I have faced the fact that as long as it is warm out-Rocco will have his tongue sticking out of every photo taken of him.)

Just playing around with my clover photo.

More wildflowers and more spit!

Water drops + pine needles=beautiful!
Volunteer fern-so nice of it to do so!

Here's today's photo of the babies~growin' up so fast!

Have a nice day, everybody!
