Fabric bowls and an anniversary

Today I cut up some thrifted wool blazers (and a sheet) to make more fabrics bowls, while watching the Gilmore Girls and fighting a headache.  Blech!

Also-tomorrow, December 19th is my 23rd wedding anniversary.  All I can say is WOW-it's really hard to believe I've been married that long.

One more thing-did you know my husband was once Amish???  No, no, just kidding-he was not Amish!  It just looks that way!

  2. I remember the night you got married! Your wedding was so pretty with the lanterns and all of us girls wearing red and green. Wow-can't believe it's been 23 years. Time goes by so very fast. Happy Anniversary. Also, beautiful bowls. Hope your headache is better.

  5. I knew you were pulling my leg about the Amish business -- since when would they allow a photo? Ha. Happy anniversary. And I'm having serious bowl-envy here. They're beautiful.

  7. Jessie-they are buried somewhere. And though my bridemaids all looked beautiful-I think I looked like a dork!

  9. I love the rag bowls! I have been looking over your blog for a tutorial for these and the rag rugs. Do you simply crochet them?

  10. Yes-it's just crochet. I followed This Vintage Chica's tutorial. Here it is:

    http://vintagechica.typepad.com/the_life_and_times_of_thi/2006/10/rag_rug_tutoria.html

For the rag bowls I just crocheted around and around adding a few stitches here and there (just like you do for the rugs) for the bottom and then when I was ready for the sides I stopped adding any stitches and dropped a few here and there and the sides just kind of grew up!

It's all very rustic-but it just seems to work out.

    Hope that helps a little.

I'm adding the rag rug tutorial to my side bar under links I like. :)
