The empty nest

Do you see what I see?
This is so much fun!

My beautiful dog-looking out the window at the turkeys Larry had pointed out to him.  Ya-he has his front paws up on the toy box, which we use as a stand-type thingy.  I imagine if he could talk he'd be saying, "And I saw turkeys strutting up the driveway and everything, Mom!"

We have an egg!  I'm excited!  I can't imagine there's a person on this earth that doesn't think that egg's a beautiful color.

There's my beautiful baby!

(This is a screenshot of photos of video.)

My mom transferred my daughter's baby tapes (yes, I'm getting old!) to dvd for me. I took some pics of the video streaming on our tv around her birthday this year. You know~reminiscing. (Almost painful, by the way.) I found them on my ipod and then I took a screen shot of them. I thought it was kinda cool. These are not in succession, though. I must have rewound.

Although, it looks pink-the cake was orange-it was Garfield, I made two. Twenty years ago, you could buy a cake mix with tinfoil cake pan, coloring for icing (I think), and paper cut-outs for the details all in one box. I'm pretty sure they don't make them anymore. Like I said, I'm getting old.

I just found Hoper's baby tape (well-she was 2 thru 6 or so) that I was missing, so I need Mom to transfer it to dvd too.  I've been playing it on the vcr, and recording clips with my ipod touch from the tv and sending them to my girl via imessage.  Oh dear, there's some good stuff on there and it's been fun.  But wow, it leaves me with a weird feeling in my gut!

Have a good weekend, everybody!

This and that

Go ahead, make a wish.  I hope it comes true for you!

That's a pretty background for Happy Camper, don't you think?  (This was week before last.)

This was the week before last too. I've said it before-I'm obsessed with clouds.

This robins' nest is in my rhododendron.  I check for those beautiful blue eggs everyday!

On the wings of dove!

This snow-it's just a distant memory now!
Happy birthday to my bro-out-law, Davey!  Gettin' old, huh Davey?

That's it that's all-have a great day!

This is the rug I've had in my kitchen for about the past year.  I made this one before I started naming them.

My kitchen rugs take a beating because they get filthy and then need washed quite often.  This one developed a hole because I used a canvas-like fabric (used to be a valance) and it did not hold up well.  I almost retired her to the basement, but then decided to Ree-cycle, Ree-do, Ree-make, Ree-purpose-you get the idea!

So I unraveled her and cut out the bad parts-and then stitched her back up tightening her up as I went along.  Kind of like plastic surgery, except I think Ree actually looks a lot better after.  (Maybe I should try this on myself.)

Now, let me Ree-veal-REE!  She's a no-name no longer. I think she's quite pretty and I'm so glad I didn't send her to the basement!
Have a lovely day!

It's still spring, but it looks like winter

I took this pic of these purple purdy wildflower/weeds in my yard last week.  We even had an 80 degree day, I think.

Then today it snowed.  Oh, the weather can be fickle!

The white sky cast a winter looking light in the house.

One thing I do miss about warm weather is fresh air.  I love me some fresh air in the house!  It's a good thing I love my snow, or I might be a little ticked.

Summer people-your heat is just around the corner.  At least, I think it is!

It's still spring, but this is Summer

This is Summer.  I made this rug for my daughter's friend.  These are her friend's favorite colors.  In fact, I made a cut and tie blanket for her a few months ago in these colors.  (Gotta keep those Mommy brownie points coming my way.)

Oh, Honeybee-I love you now.  I didn't though when I was a kid, because you always stung my foot and made it swell up like a balloon for days.

I see sprouts!

Here's a tiny bouquet.  It's for Michaelanne!
Have a great weekend, everybody!

The flowers and the trees

Rocco and I went for a gator ride yesterday-we found apple blossoms at the edge of the pasture.

I'm milking the apple blossoms on the windowsill for all they're worth!

I put up these two paint-by-number paintings (from Goodwill for about a buck a piece) this morning.  I'm really loving them.

It's really beautiful in the woods by our house.  Rocco and I need to take gator rides more often-although, just like my husband-I don't think he cares much for my driving!

Have a nice day!

Meet Meadow!  Yes-I finally finished another rug-I think it's been sitting around for about a month now.  Meadow is made from thrifted shirts, except the very center.  My sister, Kim, gave me one of her holey shirts and now it's the center of this rug.  I love that color!

PS-Dandelions smell like childhood!

Being married for almost a quarter of a century took its toll on my engagement ring and wedding band.  The diamond (not big-haha!) fell out of my engagement ring several years ago and then about six months ago Rocco (my dog) caught his tooth in my dainty wedding band (when we were playing around) and bent it into a tear drop shape.

Sooooo-my sister had a jewelry party (Premier) a few weeks ago and I ordered this HOPE ring and I'm using it for a wedding band.  Perfect, I thought, since it is my child's name.  (Just HOPE my finger doesn't turn green!)

I think this is the first time I've ever had tulips in the house.  I didn't know they did THAT!  Still pretty, I think.

I spotted these yesterday near the dollar store.  I couldn't resist a picture.

Mom gave me this candle-vanilla cafe mocha.  Oh boy, does it smell good!
Have a nice day!

This morning's sunrise

Here comes the sun-part 1.

Here comes the sun-part 2.

Here comes the sun-part 3.

Here comes the sun-part 4.  (And I's alright.)

I thought it was so pretty!

Beautiful tulips!

Hmmmmm-I see hearts!

I found some beautiful tulips at my sister's house yesterday and she was nice enough to let me bring them home.  Aren't they gorgeous?

Have a lovely weekend, everybody!
