Today...

::I made a rug.  This is "Daisy".  She contains part of a tee in the very center and the rest is the sheets and fabric that Dawnie thrifted and then gifted to me.

::I made a peanut butter pie.  My mom cleaned her pantry and she gave me a Nilla Wafer pie crust-that's what I used.   I was too lazy to mess with meringue.

Here's the recipe I used-

Shirley's Cream Pie

2 cups milk-heat in medium saucepan

Add while wisking continuously:
1/4 cup cornstarch
2/3 cup sugar
pinch of salt
3 egg yolks (mix with a little warm milk first to temper-you don't want scrambled eggs)

Continue to wisk and bring to simmer, then wisk until thickened.

Then add 1 teaspoon vanilla, 1 tablespoon of butter, and one huge spoonful of peanut butter.  (Probably a little less than 1/2 cup.)

Stir it up good!

**********************

If you want to make coconut cream-add a BIG handful of coconut instead of peanut butter, and sprinkle the meringue with coconut too before baking.

**********************

Meringue

3 egg whites
1/4 cup sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla

Beat egg whites and vanilla on high in metal or glass (not plastic) bowl (and add sugar gradually) until the egg whites form stiff peaks.  Bake on pie at 350 degrees for 10 minutes or until the meringue is browned.

::I cleaned off the table-what a job!

Rocco seemed really happy about it.

"She CLEANED off the table?"

"She cleaned off the TABLE?"

"SHE CLEANED OFF THE TABLE!"

"Thank you, God-she cleaned off the table."

That's all.

I really am LOL!!! You are too funny with the Rocco comments! I love peanut butter pie, no meringue though, whipped cream for me! I'll have to try this recipe - Dan says mine is too "peanut buttery" (as if that is a bad thing?) Your table looks nice and the heart doily fits in so lovely, just as I suspected!! Oh-Daisy is beautiful!

I love how you are now naming your rugs!
We are looking after a puppy that is soooo tiny, just 7 weeks old. She is such a handful. I cant imagine how you coped with Rocco as a puppy.

Daisy's a beautiful rug. But that Rocco....Oh my. How could you not love that face? My dog is still claiming Liberty as her own. I'm tripping over her every time I try to walk through the hallway. Liberty might have to be moved elsewhere -- less conspicuous.

I love the colors of that rug. I love daisy's and sunflowers, anything to do with yellows and greens most of all. I saw you're kitchen chairs in the background and did a double take. I have those exact chairs myself.

I really LIKE daisy - I am waiting in anticipation to meet the next member of your rug family :) Rocco is so funny, even from me and I am not a fan of big dogs. Going to try out the recipe. Did you see the Recipes & Such Group on Facebook - some great recipes!
