Corners

Today I dusted the stuff on this cabinet and changed out the doilies (except one).  The ones on the ends are some that I won from Melissa.  The one with the birdie-my friend Dawnie gave me and the pink one is from Goodwill.  Have I ever mentioned that I love doilies???  I do!

I don't think I've ever told about my awesome barnwood corner cabinet.

I bought this at a shop over in Amish country quite a few years ago now-though I don't think it's Amish made.  It's authentic barn wood, though.  Do you want to know how I know?  It stinks.  Like a barn.  Especially in the summer.  I don't care, I love it anyhow.  My favorite part is the upcycled window!

It's not very big-it holds a few VCR tapes of yesteryear.

No-that's not a Christmas tree.  (It just looks that way.)

I love this corner of my home!

Oh wow, that barnwood cabinet is wonderful! Not the smell though. I love your style. I just picked up a handful of damaged, stained & sad doilies for crafting with. I love them.

Gorgeous! Love that cabinet too! I have a tree like that in a corner of my home too - I decorate it for every season and leave white lights on it all the time just for "mood" lighting in my living room in the evenings. You have such a great way of decorating!

Love your willow tree figurines. I have started my own collection.
Id take that corner cabinet anyday...stink and all.
If its not a Christmas tree......is it an elephant?

Taking a closer look at the pictures...
Drooling over the milk glasswear and is that a glass a wood door hanging on the wall with pictures behind it?
You are the coolest Holly!

I have a question...How on earth do you keep all of your "pretties" from tumbling off of that side board with that moose, errr, I mean dog you have?! AND he has a tail that I am certain could clear a table in an instant!! LOL

Amber-I love to see doilies on clothes, pillows-anything!

Rhonda-I love the twinkle lights on my tree too for mood lighting!

Dawn-I'm glad I can make you giggle-hehe!

Melissa-It's a pencil tree-I have it up all year. But-last year it was my Christmas tree and I have a feeling it will be this year too.

It's a window and all the milk glass is from Goodwill-I'm pretty sure it's all from the 15 cent wares rack.

Dawn-I don't know how I get away with Rocco not knocking into that sideboard cabinet. He doesn't seem to be around it much. But when my husband brings Jasper (that's Rocco's brother) down to visit from his mom's house-I have to shoo them away cause they're crazy together. And no tails-they have stubs! Most rottweilers have their tails docked when they are a few days old (in other words when the tails are tiny!) I can see why they do it-ouch-those things would hurt! (Not to mention break all my pretties!)

Very, very sweet. What a delightful space!

I forgot about about Rottie's having docked tails. Good thing! He is a beautfiful dog and apparently well behaved! :o)

I'm in the midst of a little doily love myself. This little corner of your world is very homey.

I love doilies too! I am fortunate to have several that my Grandmother crocheted many years ago. I have her diary that she kept from 1927-1930 and she wrote about crocheting her doilies to decorate her home. She was a young wife & mother and she did her "fancy work" to ease the lonliness when her baby was asleep and her husband was working long hours.

Oh-that would be wonderful to have your grandmother's diary. I think doilies are works of art!
