Shelf o' many holidays

Christmas-courtesy of Goodwill.  Aren't these adorable?

Thanksgiving-courtesy of ,again, Goodwill.

Halloween and Easter.  Easter courtesy of Goodwill too.

So-you see-if I dig no other decorations out, and someone asks me if I do not decorate for holidays I can say-well, yes, of course, I do-haven't you seen my shelf?  By the way, the shelf was a wedding gift from my co-workers way back when, along with a microwave.  The microwave is long gone-but the shelf (now with a coat of aqua-ish paint) is still standing (hanging)!

Okay-speaking of holidays-I want to know what y'all (everybody-not just my friends and family, but bloggy friends too!)  have on your Christmas wish lists.  Homemade or store bought.  I need idears!

Handmade of course! The things you make can get quite pricey over here in the boutiques!

Funny you should ask this, I was just thinking about this today. What do you think about giving a beach blanket to go to a teacher for a gift? And we still need to pick out material for me to make a quilt. Sounds like a winter project so i better get some material.

Oh my- I used to have one of those santa mugs! Completely forgot about them until I saw your picture. I am worried about holidays too - I think I'm getting the little guys bean bag chairs and pillow pets, as for toys. . don't know. The other ones I have no idea. As for me, I want the body I had back when I was 25!

Jessie-I think it would be a wonderful gift!

Rhonda-to me you looks like you did at 25 and I am serious! Merry Christmas to you!

Here's my dilemma girls-I'm trying to figure out if it's worth putting time and effort into making homemade gifts. Would my gift recipients rather have something else? would they rather have money? I've always not liked to put something in someone's house because I feel like they would feel like they have to keep it there so as not to hurt my feelings. Oh dear...........

That Goodwill store always comes through for you, huh? On my list -- YARN. Even my boys know that's what will make me happy.

You'd be fun to buy for, Jodi!

Okay, here is something my roommate and I did in college. We went out for dinner and paid for it ourselves and enjoyed each other's company during the Holiday season. It was nice to relax and enjoy a dinner and lingering over a dessert. Food always makes me happiest, I wish it didn't but it does. HA.
