Quarter of a century ago

Not too shabby, eh???

(My cousin, Michelle, called me last evening to ask me to if I could find the castanets she had brought me home from Spain-28? years ago. I could have sworn they were in my 'hope' chest. I didn't find the castanets, but I did find our prom pic-circa 1985. Teehee-please remember it was the 80's! Check out them thar gloves! And I was thin! And Larry had some? hair! Good stuff-I tell ya!)

Ha! I remember this like it was yesterday! I remember your corsage was too big and you hacked at it! Remember we bought those gloves in Pittsburgh on that business field trip with Mr. Long?

Oh my goodness-you remember about the corsage? It was a HUGE orchid (I think)and I remember that Mom and I went in the other room and started hacking at it with scissors. Oh good grief-Mom and I were just talking about that when Hoper went to prom!

And I have no recollection of buying the gloves. I'm glad you remember, so you can fill in the gaps. You bought some too? Silly girl!

God love Mr. Long-having to deal with all those girls! Now that I think about it-he was probably happy as a clam!

Oh yes, we bought them so we'd be like Madonna! Also, remember the Playboy bunny airfreshener garters? I remember you telling me about hacking at the orchid and how huge it was - it took up your whole arm. I think we bought white nail polish on that trip to Pitts too- since both our dresses were white. I can remember that, but can't remember what I did yesterday - I am getting old.

Love it! As a product of the eighties, I can totally relate to the hair. How did we get to this point where our daughters now go to the prom? I can't believe how old this makes me feel.
