Marshmallows aren't just for campfires

I was getting ready to make Rice Krispies Treats for Ladies Missionary and I got a hankering for a burnt marshmallow. (Carcinogens......mmmmmmmmmmm!)
Do you want to know something that's really good? Spread good old peanut butter on top of your Treats-yummy, yummy! I only spread it on a few of mine. My mom is a Rice Krispies Treat purist!
*****************************************************
Original Rice Krispies Treats Recipe:

3 tablespoons butter or margarine
1 package (10 oz., about 40) regular marshmallows
- OR -
4 cups miniature marshmallows
6 cups Rice Krispies®

***I do everything the same except I like to use 4 tablespoons of butter and 7 cups of Rice Krispies***

1. In large saucepan melt butter over low heat. Add marshmallows and stir until completely melted. Remove from heat. 2. Add KELLOGG'S RICE KRISPIES cereal. Stir until well coated.3. Using buttered spatula or wax paper evenly press mixture into 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan coated with cooking spray. Cool. Cut into 2-inch squares. Best if served the same day.

I think about those carcinogens too! And I'm with your mom, only the rice crispie treats, thank you very much.

Hi, I just found your cute blog recently. I like a little burntness too. I wonder how the rice cripy treats would taste if you burnt and toasted the marshmellow first. YUM. I've mixed peanut butter in the rice crispy teats before its delcious.
