The hummingbirds are back

And I'm so happy they are. These amazing creatures entertain me from May until September every year without fail.

Here is something interesting I've deduced-even if my feeder is not up yet in the spring-the hummers come to the exact spot (hanging right in front of our door) looking for it in May. Therefore, I've concluded they must be the same ones that are coming back year after year. Amazing, really, when you (I) think about it.
Here's a hummer resting it's weary wings while sitting on my clothesline. I took this photo yesterday morning through the screen. The sun was just starting to burn though the fog/mist.
This one was taken through the glass door. At least it's beautiful, little silhouette can be seen!

You can see last year's hummers here and here.

Hummingbird Food

1 part sugar to 4 parts water. Boil one minute. Cool.

Fill up your feeder and let the amazement begin!

And just for fun-I've edited the photo of the angelic hummer from last year to look even more heavenly!

We just hung two new hummingbird feeders here at our new home. We saw our first little friend drinking nectar yesterday! It certainly is exciting having these little birds nearby!

Those pictures are so neat -- love the effect of the screen. My hummingbirds don't arrive until my trumpet vines are in bloom. They love those flowers (unfortunately, so do the ants). Have a wonderful weekend.
