Did you know...

you can use things like thread, balls of yarn, books, Christmas bulbs, and other 'things' you may have laying around the house, to decorate for different holidays? Just color coordinate. Or just do whatever is pleasing to YOUR eye. Like red and pink and white for Valentines Day, Greens for St. Patty's Day, pastels for Easter, etc., etc. (I just thought of this-I had a t-shirt when I was a kid-that said etc extra terrific chick.) Okay, Holly-get back on track!

I don't really know why-but I like the look of everyday items arranged prettily, sitting around the house. Makes me smile. I know some would think it's strange (like my brother-out-law), but I know others may like decor like this too. If you think you'd like it, you should give it a try, if you haven't already.

And.....I was digging in one of my cupboards and I found this little tray I vaguely remember buying at Goodwill a long time ago. Lovely, I think.

Chair rail rocks!☺

Chair rails do rock! I wish I had some. I did something similar with thread -- all shades of green. I put them in an old canning jar. It looks so pretty. You know what they say about great minds.....we're thinking alike, you and me!

So pretty! What a good idea! I like to put up season pics of my kids at different holidays, and change out certain dishes or glasses - it makes life a bit more interesting to change it up a bit!

Yes, Jodie, try it-you'll like it!

Rhonda-changing seasonal pics is a great idea!

Man-Jodie and I both wish we had digital cameras when our kiddos were babies!

I love looking at all your collectibles so nicely displayed!!!!! I love using everyday things too. It's fun. Very pretty!!!! Love your snow pic too!! You know how much I love snow, but I was starting to get disgusted because I couldn't get up my driveway. Well went and bought 2 new winter treads and wala, right up the driveway. I can LOVE snow again!!
