Sweet potholder

I made this lovely little potholder by following this tutorial by Artsy-Crafty Babe. It's made from dishtowel. I ordered the embroidery pattern from Sublime Stitching.

I think they make nice, little, inexpensive gifts. Now, get sewin'!

Yet another easy recipe, just in time for the Superbowl!

Today is this doll's birthday!

This is my mom as a little girl. So sweet. No wonder I'm so cute. Just kidding! (I really don't think I'm cute.)
Happy birthday, Mom.
We love you!!!

Supper success

Before baking.
After baking.

After eating.

The view from my window

This makes me happy.
As long as I'm inside!

Strawberries and spinach

Jessie was good enough to bring left over ingredients for Strawberry Spinach Salad to my sister's house Saturday evening. Well, I was there too, and I confiscated them! Very pretty and tasty too!
There are a bunch of recipes for this salad here.

What's on my desk?

A bunch of crap stuff, that looks better contained in this little thingy tray.

Recycle your pop bottles

Next time you buy a bottle of pop in a pretty bottle, don't throw the bottle away. Recycle it by using it as a liquid soap dispenser, for hand washing or dish washing or both. Just rinse out your bottle and pour your dish washing liquid in it. Push the topper into the bottle opening* and you are done. Pretty enough to keep on your sink.
*A couple tips-If your topper (which you can buy at any kitchen store and probably Walmart) is hard to get in, squirt a little soap on it and it will go in easier. Also, sometimes the soap is so thick that it takes forever to pour out. I just water the soap down a little and that helps.
This idea came from my friend ~Dawnie~.
See that glass with cherries on it-came from Goodwill-my favorite store ever.

Bottle cap magnets

Want to know how to make cute magnets out of recycled stuff? You know you do. Well, here's how:

1. Save your pretty bottles caps (and bottles). Or have your friends save them for you, if you don't drink the pop with the pretty caps.
2. Take your vinyl shower curtain liner-cut a slit in the little pockets on the bottom, that hold the magnets. (You don't need them anyhow.) Remove magnets.
3. Place a dab of hot glue inside the bottle caps and stick the little round magnet on it. Your magnet will not touch whatever you are putting it on-refrigerator or whatever. But it should be strong enough to stick anyhow. The chunkier the magnet, the stronger it will be.
4. You're done. See, that was easy!

Stay tuned for what to do with the bottle. Exciting stuff!

Refrigerator side shelf

This lovely, little shelf hangs from the side of my refrigerator. My teeny kitchen has very little cupboard space, so this helps a little. I don't really mind the cans, etc. in the open. In fact, I kinda like it. Only problem is, those corners are sharp! And I've had a few bruises to prove it.
Exciting stuff, I know!!!

Cold toes, warm heart

I loved this print called Cold Toes, warm heart so much I had to order it from Emily Martin's Etsy shop a couple months ago. Her blog is http://theblackapple.typepad.com/.

I think the quilt in that print looks a lot like this.
I made this quilt a couple years ago for my sister for her birthday. Too bad you can never see it. It's buried under the ten other blankets on her unmade bed. Hehehehehe.

Holly and Marie

Did you know that I used to hang out with celebrities???

Wow, I look weird, but remember, it was the 80's!

I've been using http://picnik.com/ to edit my pics. It's easy and best of all-FREE.

Puppy Chow

Here's a good, little, simple recipe. My daughter loves this, even though she hates most of my cooking.

Puppy Chow

Melt in microwave, stirring every 30 seconds:

6 oz. milk chocolate chips
1/4 cup peanut butter
1/4 cup of butter

Pour mixture on 6 cups Crispix or Chex cereal and coat.Pour 1 1/2 to 2 cups powdered sugar in a Ziploc bag. Add cereal mixture and shake well. Store in airtight container.

Gift for Mom

My mom's birthday is coming up soon. This is one of her presents. It's a pillow if you can't tell.

Think she'll like it??? I do.

My Tea

Big cup.

Two bags.

My favorite store is...

Goodwill!

This pottery all came from Goodwill, for a buck or less for each.

The piece on the left is handmade, and signed on the bottom by Michelle Solomon. Don't know her, but at least I appreciate her work.

In the middle is what I think is a cookie jar. There is a silver sticker on the bottom that says Genuine Ransburg. I've seen collections of this stuff in Country Living magazine.

On the left is a piece of Robinson Ransbottom Pottery. Love this crock.

I love pottery and I love Goodwill!

Do you like my header???

Do you like my header? I decorated my little cabinet for Valentines Day already. Cute, I think. My friend Dawnie decorates for V-day, and now I do too. I got some ideas like using books from reading http://nieniedialogues.blogspot.com/.

Have a great day, Peeps!

Hello my Peeps!

Hello my Peeps!

Yes-it's true. After 2 1/2 years of loving reading blogs, I have started my own. Don't know if I will do anything with it, but I might!!!
